The state of Arkansas uses the computer-based GED exam for high school equivalency testing.

In Arkansas, students looking to earn their GED diploma can take the four GED subtests online or in an official Arkansas GED testing center.

To register for the GED® exam, students must open their account on GED.com, the official website of GED Testing Service.

GED testing in Arkansas costs $16 for the entire exam (the state subsidizes the rest of the cost) if you take the exam at a state-designated test center.

If you take the online GED test, however, the cost will be $36 per subject test, so $144 in total. All test-takers must first attain sufficient scores on the GED Ready® practice test.

Arkansas GED Requirements

  • The Arkansas minimum age is 16. If you are 16 or 17, though, additional restrictions apply. Get in touch with a GED testing center near you.
  • You must be an Arkansas resident to qualify for GED testing in the state.
  • You cannot have a high school diploma if you want to take the GED exam, and you cannot be signed up for any school program as well.
  • In Arkansas, all GED test-takers are required to first attain sufficient results on the GED Ready practice test and pass a Civics test.

When you didn’t pass one of the four GED subtests, you can retake that subject twice without any waiting period in Arkansas. If you have to retake that subtest for the third time, however, there’ll be a wait time of 60 days. Your first two retakes on any subtest are free of charge, provided you take them within one year.

Taking the GED test is now possible both online and at an official GED test center. Until recently, GED testing over the Internet was not possible. If you were looking to acquire your GED diploma, you had to appear in person at an official test center.

Well, that has changed, fortunately, as the GED organization has introduced an online proctored testing version. When you want to secure your GED (General Education Development) diploma, take a closer look at the following points: discover your nearest GED prep site for proper preparation or take an online course.
