For some students. it is better to learn under the supervision of a teacher at one of the sites listed below.

The GED test is quite challenging. The four modules assess knowledge at a level similar to what graduating high school seniors must command.

If you write the GED exam at a testing center, you’ll get two retakes at a reduced rate. This is not the case when you take the exam online.

Online GED Exam

The four GED subtests can now be taken online and one at a time by students who score “green” on the GED Ready official practice test. A proctor will guide you through the process. For more details, go to this page -> ‘The online proctored GED test.’

Who is the GED Exam for?

The GED (General Education Development) exam provides the opportunity to obtain a high school equivalency degree for adults who did not complete their traditional high school education.

All across the country, the GED credential is seen as equivalent to a high school diploma. The instructions offered in GED and pre GED classes are developed to address the educational needs of people with a wide range of skills and capabilities.

The GED exam must be entirely done on a computer, and online testing was, until recently, not available. Applicants had to take the four subtests at an authorized testing center, but that has changed (see above). You can take one test at a time if you want. Please bear in mind that in Arizona, GED hopefuls must also pass the state’s Civics Test.

Age Requirements in Arizona

In Arizona, GED testers must be eighteen years old or older to qualify for the GED Equivalency Assessment. However, examinees ages sixteen and seventeen may also qualify if they provide a statement from their former high school verifying their formal withdrawal from school and a notarized statement of approval signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Arizona doesn’t require testers to attend a prep class prior to taking the assessment or reaching a passing score on the official practice test, the GED Ready Test, except when the exam is taken online.
