Listed here are GED classes and testing centers in the Chula Vista area. California uses the computer-based GED exam for the purpose of high school equivalency testing.
The state additionally embraced the HiSET exam which is offered both on-paper and on-computer.
The HiSET® and GED® exams can be taken both online and at one of California’s official testing centers. Read more below.
The assessments are for adults who did not complete high school and offer them the opportunity to earn an equivalent degree.
The GED exam comes with four individual tests in Science, Social Studies, Math, and Literacy that can be completed separately.
HiSET testing is done via five subtests as the Literacy section has separate writing and reading tests. These tests may, if you wish, be taken individually as well.

Proctored online GED or HiSET exams
The GED and HiSET exams are now also offered in a proctored online version. If students want to qualify for the online GED option, they must score in the “green zone” on the GED Ready® practice test. You can learn more about online proctored (OP) GED testing <- in this article.
If you want to read more about the HiSET-At-Home possibility, check out this article: The Online HiSET-At-Home Exam.
The four GED tests
The GED exam has 4 individual tests (modules): Literacy: (2hrs. 30min.); Math: (1hr. 55min.); Science: (1hr. 30min.); and Social Studies: (1hr. 10min.).
You don’t need to take all four GED tests in one row; you can take them individually at the time you feel all set to do so. So prepare for one subtest, pass that section, and go on with preparing for the next part. The five HiSET tests may also be taken separately.
The diploma that’s awarded upon completion of one of the exams is all across North America accepted as equivalent to the diploma that’s awarded after finishing high school. Therefore, you will always feel on par with other high school graduates. It generates better employment options and allows for a college education.
