The GED® exam comes with four separate sub-tests in the subject fields of literacy, social studies, math, and science.

The GED subtests measure knowledge at a level that compares to that of graduating HS seniors.

Online GED testing was, until recently, not possible. You needed to come to a state-approved testing site in person, but now, that has all changed when the online GED test-taking option was introduced. Read more below.

A new online GED option

Until recently, taking the computer-based GED exam over the internet was not an option. To get hold of a GED diploma, your personal appearance at one of Florida’s official GED testing facilities was required.

But now, that has all changed as an online, proctored GED exam was introduced where an online proctor will help you through the test-taking process. Go to this post: ‘The online proctored GED exam‘ to learn more.

GED Passing Score

The GED passing score is 145 and this counts for all four of the GED modules. Scoring takes place on a scale from 100 to 200 so on each subtest, you are required to score at least 145 points. Averaging is NO option.

145-164 score: High School Equivalency; 165-174: College-Ready: 175-200: College-Ready PLUS up to 10 College Credits, depending on the school.

Pinellas County

Pinellas County leads Florida in the number of earned GED diplomas. Offering educational opportunities belongs to the Pinellas County Schools’ overall vision.

Pinellas County schools work hard to gain their 100 percent success mission in educating and preparing all students for a college education, career development, and the challenges of life in general.
