The GED® test assesses proficiency at a similar level to what graduating HS seniors are expected to command.

The GED (General Education Development) exam includes four sub-tests in these subject fields:

  • English Literacy (Reasoning through Language Arts)
  • Math (Mathematical Reasoning)
  • Science
  • Social Studies

You can take these four GED subtests separately; no need to sit for the entire GED battery in one take.

In Arizona, students need to take and pass the Arizona Civics exam as well.

Online GED Testing

There is now an online GED testing option for qualifying students. In the past, GED students had to come personally to one of Arizona’s official Arizona GED testing centers if they wanted to earn their Arizona GED diplomas.

Fortunately, that has now changed with the arrival of an online format to take the four GED subtests with an online proctor. More details can be found here -> The online proctored GED test.
