Online GED testing

There’s now also an option to sit for the GED exam over the internet. Until recently, you had to come personally to one of Arizona’s designated GED testing sites when you were looking to acquire your Arizona GED diploma.

Now, with the arrival of an online proctored version of the GED test, that has all changed. An online proctor will be guiding you through the entire process. More details are found here: The online proctored GED exam.

GED testing

A few years ago, a completely updated edition of the GED (General Education Development) exam was rolled out across the United States. In fact, this was really needed to let the GED test get in line with contemporary college requirements and industry practices.

The GED became fully computerized, which makes sense because you will find only few jobs out there that do not call for basic keyboarding skills and computer literacy.

The latest version of the GED exam focuses more on analytical and problem-solving competencies, so a number of multiple-choice questions were replaced with questions that require more essay-style answering. So an applicant’s writing skills can be assessed through these answers as well, instead of only through an essay section.

The four GED tests allow you to demonstrate you have the knowledge and skills at a level that compares to that of a graduating high school senior. Holding the GED diploma opens the doors to a college education and qualifies you for better jobs.

To pass the GED exam, you must attain a score of at least 145 on each subtest, and averaging is not an option. In Arizona, GED test-takers are also required to pass the state’s Civics Exam.
