Testing takes place at a level that compares to that of graduating high school seniors.

The GED® exam has four subtests in Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies that can be dealt with separately.

The HiSET® exam has five subtests (Literacy includes individual reading and writing tests) that are offered separately as well.

HiSET testing is available both on a computer and on paper, whereas the GED is fully computerized.

Online HiSET and GED testing

Candidates for the Colorado HSE (High School Equivalency) diploma can take the GED or HiSET test over the internet as well. In the past, to secure your HSE diploma, you needed to appear, in person, at an official Colorado test center.

Well, that all changed. Both HiSET and GED testing is now available online with the use of an online proctor. To learn more about this interesting development, go to these pages: ‘The online GED test,’ and for HiSET testing: ‘The online HiSET exam.’

GED and HiSET

When you successfully complete the Colorado HSE (high school equivalency) exam via the GED (General Education Development) or HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) exam, you are given a certificate or diploma that is accepted all across the nation as the equivalency to a common high school diploma by governmental institutions, employers, and schools.

The HSE diploma is accepted by nearly all U.S. employers and schools of higher education in lieu of a regular high school diploma. You may very well benefit also from this website’s free practice tests for your GED exam.

The HSE exam covers basic competencies and knowledge that students learn in high school. The GED includes four GED subject tests in the fields of Math, Science, Literacy, and Social Studies. The HiSET exam comes with individual Language Writing and Language Reading tests, so five subtests in total.
