In this post, you can find all GED (in Missouri HiSET) prep facilities and test sites in the Hannibal area. Missouri is using the HiSET for its high school equivalency testing program.
You may sit for the HiSET exam at one of Missouri’s state-designated testing centers or in an online format. Read more below.
The exam program is for adults who never completed high school. This way, they can earn a degree that’s equivalent to a common HS diploma.
The HiSET® is available in both a paper-based and a computer-based version, while the latest edition of the GED® test can only be done on a computer.
The HiSET exam contains five subject tests in the fields of English writing, English reading, math, science, and social studies.
The exam takes place at a level that is similar to that of graduating high school students.

Introducing the online HiSET test
There was, until recently, no option to sit for the GED and HiSET exams in an online format. Well, that has changed. To learn more about the online proctored HiSET-At-Home testing option, check out this page: Introducing online HiSET testing. When taking the HiSET exam online, a proctor will guide you through the process and see if you do it all in accordance with the regulations.

HiSET price tag
A few years ago, Missouri’s Department of Elementary & Secondary Education switched from the GED to the HiSET exam for equivalency testing. The HiSET exam is developed by the nonprofit organization ETS (Educational Testing Service).
The Missouri HiSET exam costs $17.75 per individual subject ($10.75 for the ETS fee and a $7 administration fee for the test center. Per subject test, test-takers get two retests at only the $7 testing center fee. Additionally, there is an annual $10 state fee to take the HiSET exam in Missouri that is collected once a year. The Missouri HiSET At Home Exam fee is $151.25 for the entire battery of five subtests.
HiSET test-takers don’t need to complete the entire 5-test exam all at once. They have the option to take the five tests one (or more) at a time. If they don’t pass one of the sections the first time, they can retake that section twice within a 12-month period.
