GED Classes in Kenosha, Wisconsin

Last Updated on April 11, 2024.

In this post, you can learn all about GED prep facilities and testing sites in the Kenosha area. The state of Wisconsin uses the computer-based GED test for high school equivalency testing.

The four GED tests are given online and at certified Wisconsin test centers. The assessment is for individuals without a high school diploma. This way, they can secure a credential that’s equivalent to a regular HS diploma.

The GED® comes with four independent subtests that can be taken (and paid for) separately. No need to take the four tests all at once.

These subtests (independent modules) cover the academic fields of

  • Science
  • English Language
  • Social Studies
  • Math

The GED test was, until recently, not offered online. You were required to show up at one of Wisconsin’s official test centers in person.

That has now changed with the launch of the online proctored GED testing option. To learn more, check the information at the bottom of this post.

Welcoming the Online GED Test

In earlier days, taking the GED test online was not an option. Students looking to acquire their GED credentials were required to appear personally at a state-approved Wisconsin GED test facility.

However, this practice has now come to an end with the introduction of a new online proctored GED testing option.

Students who qualify for online GED testing will have an online proctor monitoring their testing activities to guarantee that all occurs according to strict regulations. If you want to learn more about this development, visit ‘The online GED test.’

Your Future

The GED diploma will definitely result in better career options and is your ticket to schools of higher education. Practically all North American employers and institutions of higher learning accept the GED in lieu of a high school diploma.

People with a high school or GED diploma will, on average, make some $9500 more annually than those who don’t have the credential. The GED passing score on each of the four tests is 145. Averaging is not possible, so your minimally required overall result is 580 points.

The credential that you will be awarded when you’ve successfully completed the Wisconsin GED exam is, across the country, recognized and accepted in the same way as a conventional high school diploma by state and federal government agencies, schools, and employers.
