The HiSET is available in both a paper- and computer-based version.
In earlier days, there was never an option to take the HiSET exam online. Testing was possible only at official Tennessee HiSET testing centers.

In the past, there never had been an option to sit for the HiSET exam in an online format. You had to report, in person, to a state-recognized official Tennessee HiSET test center.
