Listed here are all GED and HiSET prep class locations and testing sites in the LaGrange region. Georgia is using two options for High School Equivalency testing, the GED and HiSET exams.
The GED exam is exclusively offered on a computer, while the HiSET can be taken both on a computer and on paper.
Online GED Classes
A simple and easy way of getting your GED diploma.
Learn fast, stay motivated, and pass your GED quickly.
Both the GED® and HiSET® exams are given at state-approved test sites and in online formats. The assessments give people who never graduated from high school one more shot at securing an equivalent degree.
Testing occurs at a level similar to what students must command upon graduation.
The GED includes four modular subtests measuring knowledge in the fields of
- Language
- Social Studies
- Mathematics
- Science
You can take one (or more) subtests at a time and in any order.
The HiSET comes with separate reading and writing subtests, so five overall, that can also be taken separately.
Until recently, online GED or HiSET testing was no option. Test-takers had to appear at one of Georgia’s official testing centers.
That has changed, however, with the arrival of the online, proctored GED test. Georgians can also take the HiSET exam, which is also offered at test centers and online. Read more below.
GED or HiSET Georgia graduates may qualify for a $500 HOPE Grant. See also the bottom of this page.

Introducing the Online GED and HiSET Tests
Until recently, taking the GED or HiSET exam was only possible at state-approved HSE testing centers. There simply was no online option for taking the GED or HiSET exam. If you were looking to acquire the Georgia GED credential, your personal appearance was required.
But now, with the introduction of an online GED and HiSET testing option, all of that has changed. When you take the online-formatted GED or HiSET exam, an online proctor will help you with the test-taking process and will see if everything is in line with strict regulations.
Visit this page: ‘Online GED Test’ for more information about the online GED test, and for more details about the “HiSET-At-Home” Exam, <- check out this page.
The Hope Grant
GED or HiSET graduates in Georgia may qualify to receive a $500 HOPE GED Grant. They can use this grant for their post-secondary academic education in Georgia.
Georgia’s HOPE GED Grant may be offered to students who acquired their GED (high school equivalency) diploma via the Technical College System of Georgia.
The HOPE GED Grant provides a one-time $500 award that must be used for tuition and books or toward other educational costs at selected public technical colleges or at selected public and private colleges or universities.
There is no requirement for full-time enrollment, but students need to have used their HOPE GED Grant within two years after they received their GED diploma.
A $200 HOPE Grant may also be available to cover the cost of taking the GED or HiSET exam.
