GED testing can be done at one of Florida’s GED test centers or online. Please note that Florida has suspended online GED testing on January 10, 2024. To learn more about online GED testing, check below.

The exam offers persons who could not graduate high school the chance to obtain an equivalent degree.

The GED® exam measures knowledge at the level that can be expected of graduating high school students.

The exam includes four independent subtests covering:

• Math
• Science
• Language
• Social Studies

These sub-exams may be written independently and in any order.

Online GED Testing

Until recently, there was never an online option to take the GED exam. If you wanted to get hold of a GED diploma, you had to show up in person at an official Florida GED testing center and pass the four GED subtests.
