Posted here are all HiSET and GED prep facilities and test centers in and around Monroe. Louisiana is using both exams for its high school equivalency testing program.

The tests allow adults who couldn’t graduate high school to secure an equivalent diploma.

The HiSET® and GED® exams measure academic proficiency at the level of a graduating HS senior.

The HiSET has five subtests in the academic fields of

• Language Arts Reading
• Language Arts Writing
• Math
• Science
• Social Studies

The GED test has melted the reading and writing sections into one Language subtest, so there are four GED exams.

HiSET testing can be done on a computer and on paper, while the GED is exclusively offered on a computer. Until recently, the exams were not offered over the Internet.

The arrival of the online proctored HiSET and GED testing options, however, has changed that. Read more below.

The diploma that you’ll receive upon successfully passing the HiSET or GED exam is accepted across America in the same way as a high school degree.

Introducing the Online HiSET and GED Exams

Until recently, HiSET or GED testing over the Internet was not available. If you were looking to acquire your Louisiana high school equivalency (HSE) diploma, you needed to appear in person at an official Louisiana HSE testing center. However, the recent introduction of online HiSET and GED testing options has changed that. The online HiSET test-taking option is named the HiSET-Exam-At-Home, and the online GED test is named the OP (Online Proctored) GED Test.

So now you can take the HiSET or GED exam from home with a new online format that uses a proctor to oversee the test-taking process and check if all happens according to the regulations.
