This article includes a listing of all GED prep sites and test centers in the Newark, New Jersey, area. New Jersey uses two options for high school equivalency testing, the HiSET and GED exams.
Both the HiSET® and GED® tests are available online and at certified testing facilities. The TASC test is no longer available.
The assessments give people who did not graduate from high school the chance to obtain an equivalent credential.
This website offers free GED classes online and GED practice tests to help you discover if learning online is right for you. However, some GED students perform better if they study at one of the locations listed here under the supervision of a teacher.

You don’t need to complete the four GED modules (subtests) in one take. You can deal with them one at a time.
The HiSET exam has five tests (that can also be taken individually), as the literacy section includes separate writing and reading tests.
In New Jersey, both options must be taken on a computer. On this page, we list all options in the Newark area.
In the past, online high school equivalency (HSE) testing was no option. Recently, that has changed, however. Check below for information on the newly introduced online HiSET and GED test-taking options.

Welcoming GED and HiSET Online Testing
To sit for the HiSET or GED exam in an online format was, until recently, no option. Your personal appearance at an official New Jersey testing facility was required. Recently, however, that’s changed as online options for both the GED and HiSET exams were introduced.
