GED testing is possible both online and at certified Nebraska GED testing facilities.

The assessment offers persons who could not finish high school another chance to acquire an equivalent degree.

The computer-based GED® test has four independent modules (separate subtests) assessing a student’s knowledge of

  • Science
  • English Language Arts
  • Math
  • Social Studies

You have the option to sit for one or more GED subtests at a time. There’s no need to deal with all four tests in one session.

Across the nation, the GED credential is recognized just like a general high school degree.

Online GED Testing

Sitting for the GED test over the Internet was, until recently, never an option. If you were looking to get hold of a GED diploma in Nebraska, you personally had to come to an official GED testing facility.

Now, however, we have seen a great new development as an online version of the GED test was launched, which changed all of that. To read more about this great new development, go to this post: ‘Launching the online GED test.’

GED Passing Score

The minimum required score on each of the four modules is 145. Scoring takes place on a 100-200 scale, and averaging is not possible, meaning your total score cannot be under 580. The GED exam is a set of four tests that measure your knowledge about general subject fields taught in four-year high school education.

Virtually all colleges and employers accept the GED diploma as equivalent to a high school degree, and if you already have a high school degree, you won’t need a GED diploma.

However, if you did not finish high school, you would want to get a GED diploma, as many employers require a secondary degree (high school or GED diploma) for employment or job promotions.

Can I take One GED Test at a Time?

Yes, you can. The GED exam allows you to take one test at a time; no need to take all four tests at the same time. You have the freedom to take each test at that time when you feel all set for that part of the GED exam.

GED Registration

For all information on the GED program, go to GED.com. For registration and scheduling your tests, you create an account at MyGED. Here, you can also find a lot of information about job options, market trends, and descriptions of academic programs and school profiles.

This is the best place to be guided through the process that will result in your GED diploma. The GED tests are taken on a computer only, and you must go online to register and schedule your tests.

Go online to GED.com to start this process. You will need a current email and a major credit/debit card to be able to apply. If that’s a problem, don’t worry. You can get a pre-paid voucher as well at most testing sites.
