Norwalk Public Schools Continuing Education Program provides GED, Basic Skills, ESL, and High School Diploma to Norwalk, Wilton, Weston, and Westport residents 17 years and older. The GED program prepares adults to pass the four-part computerized exam to earn their State of Connecticut diploma.

Students receive lessons in the four subject areas of the GED test: Science, Social studies, Math, and Literacy (Language Arts). GED classes are available to residents 17 years or older and who are officially withdrawn from school. Applicants are required to complete testing prior to registration for proper placement.

Evening GED classes in both English and Spanish are held at Brien McMahon High School. Morning GED classes (English) are held at the Carver Center. GED classes in Spanish are also offered at Brookside Elementary School on Saturday mornings.

Online proctored GED testing

Taking the GED exam via the internet was never an option. You needed to come, personally, to one of Connecticut’s official GED testing sites when you were looking to earn the Connecticut high school equivalency diploma.
