Posted here are all GED (In West Virginia: HiSET) prep locations and testing sites in the Parkersburg area. West Virginia offers the HiSET exam for high school equivalency testing.
In recent years, the state used the TASC exam for that purpose, but that exam was discontinued by the end of 2021.

A Customized Plan To Help You Get Your Diploma Fast & Easy.
Like the GED®, the HiSET® exam gives people who never graduated from high school an extra option to earn an equivalent degree.
The HiSET has five subtests in the fields of
- English Reading
- English Writing
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
West Virginia takes up the tab for its residents’ High School Equivalency testing, and the HiSET is priced more friendly than the GED.
The HiSET exam is available in both a paper-based and a computer-based version. In West Virginia, however, only computerized testing is available.
The five HiSET modules (independent sub-exams) can be taken online by qualifying students or at one of West Virginia’s official HiSET test sites.

HiSET Scoring
The five HiSET modules are scored on a 0 to 20 scale. You need to attain at least 8 points on EACH of the sub-exams, and your total score must be at least 45 points. Additionally, your essay must have a 2-point score. Averaging is not possible, so you need to attain a passing score (8 points) on each of the five HiSET subtests that may be taken one at a time.
