The exam can be taken online or at an official Rhode Island GED test center.

The GED® test is designed for people who, for some reason, never finished high school. This way, they have the opportunity to acquire a credential that is equivalent to a common HS diploma.

GED testing takes place at a level that compares to that of graduating high school students.

Some students do better when guided by a teacher at one of the facilities listed in this post, while other students prefer to learn independently with a good online program. Best GED Classes offers free online resources so you can determine if online learning is the right fit for you.

If that’s the case, just go ahead with Onsego’s Online GED Prep Course, a full-scope program that GED Test Service qualifies as “Entirely In Line With The GED Exam.”

The GED exam consists of four subtests (separate modules) measuring knowledge of:

  • English Language
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies

You may take one or more of the four GED modules at a time. Completion in one take is not needed.

The Rhode Island GED exam costs $144 ($36 per individual test), but the state passed a bill that subsidizes the cost for low-income residents. Online testing also costs $36 per subject test.

For more information about the newly launched online GED testing option, check below at the bottom of this page.
