This is a complete overview of GED class locations and testing centers in the Riverside region. California offers two options for high school equivalency testing: the GED and HiSET.

Both options can be taken online or at a certified California test center. Check below to learn more about online testing.

The HiSET® and GED® tests are for individuals who never graduated high school, and this way, they can acquire an equivalent degree.

Both tests measure proficiency at levels that compare to graduating HS seniors.

The GED exam is entirely computer-based and has four separate subtests (modules) in

• Language Arts
• Social Studies
• Science
• Math

If you want, you can take one (or more) of the four GED subtests at a time.

The HiSET exam includes five subtests (the Language Arts section has separate writing and reading tests) that can be taken separately, too.

The HiSET exam is offered in both paper-based and computer-formatted formats.

Online GED and HiSET Testing

Students looking to earn their high school equivalency diploma can also take the HiSET or GED exam online. Until just recently, there was no possibility of taking the GED or HiSET online. That was simply not offered. You needed to come to an official test center and take the tests in person.
