Posted here are all HiSET and GED prep classes and testing sites in the St. Louis region. Missouri uses both the GED and HiSET for high school equivalency testing.

Best GED Classes offers free online GED classes to help you get started on your GED prep track, but they don’t cover the full content of the GED exam. They also let you see if online studying is a good choice for you.

If it is, you can simply switch to Onsego GED Prep, an accredited, complete GED prep program that helps you to pass the HiSET® or GED® test fast.

The HiSET and GED exams can be taken at certified testing centers or in an online format, as we recently saw the launch of the “Online Proctored GED Test” and the “HiSET-At-Home” exam. Learn more at the bottom of this post.

The HiSET, like the GED exam, gives adults who never finished high school the chance to earn an equivalent credential. Testing is done at a level similar to what HS seniors must command upon graduation.

The GED test has four independent, modular sub-exams that assess an applicant’s knowledge and skills in the academic areas of:

• Math
• Science
• Social Studies
• English Language

The HiSET exam includes five tests because the Language portion has individual reading and writing sub-exams.

HiSET testing can be done on paper and in a computer-based format, while the GED is a fully computer-formatted assessment. All of the HiSET and GED subtests may be taken individually and in any preferred order.

To see if you’re ready for the FastTrack program, you can take a placement test every Thursday (except in June and July) at 8:30 a.m. Students who test at the 9th-grade level or higher are accepted immediately and can study at their own pace.
