Listed in this post are all GED prep class sites and testing facilities in the Salt Lake City area. Utah is using the computer-based GED exam for high school equivalency testing.

The GED exam is available online and at certified Utah GED testing facilities.

The Utah GED® test gives adults who didn’t graduate high school an extra opportunity to earn an equivalent degree.

This website provides free online GED classes and practice tests. These resources will get you started with GED preparation and allow you to see if learning with an online course is good for you. They do, however, not include all subject material that’s on the GED test.

That’s offered by Onsego GED Prep, a complete, affordable online program that GED Testing Service, the publisher of the GED test, has qualified as “100% in line with the latest edition of the GED exam.”

The exam comes with four separate subtests in the following academic fields:

• English Language Arts
• Science, including Physics, Scientific Methods, Chemistry
• Social Studies, incl. History, Government, Geography
• Mathematics

You have the option to deal with the GED subtests (modules) one test at a time.

In earlier days, the GED exam could not be taken online. You had to come to a state-approved testing site and sit for the four GED subtests in person.

This has now changed, however, with the launch of an online proctored GED test-taking option.

Across North America, educational institutions and employers accept the GED in lieu of a common HS diploma.

Introducing Online Proctored GED Testing

In the past, there was never a way to take the GED exam online. If you wanted to earn your GED diploma, you had to show up in person at a state-designated Utah GED test center.

Now, this has changed as we’ve witnessed the arrival of a new online option to take the GED test. An online proctor checks if your activities are all done in line with the regulations. For more information, go to ‘The online proctored GED exam.’
