Listed here are all GED preparatory classes and test centers in the San Luis Obispo region. California uses two exams for High School Equivalency testing, the GED and HiSET.

Online GED Classes

A simple and easy way of getting your GED diploma.

Learn fast, stay motivated, and pass your GED quickly.

Both the HiSET and GED can now be taken online as well. You can read more about online GED and HiSET testing below.

The HiSET® and GED® assessments give individuals who didn’t graduate high school one more shot at securing an equivalent degree.

Testing assesses knowledge at a level comparable to what graduating high school students must know.

The GED contains four independent subtests that measure a candidate’s knowledge level in these academic subjects:

  • Language
  • Social Studies
  • Math
  • Science

You can take these subtests (independent modules) one or more at a time and in any order.

Grizzly Youth Academy is a voluntary residential charter high school program of five months administrated by the National Guard together with the county’s Office of Education for at-risk youth aged 16-18 at Camp San Luis Obispo.

Many of the applicants are severely behind in their education when they come to the program with a high school diploma far out of reach. Through this program, they make a commitment to further their education. Here, they are encouraged to get their GED diplomas and take their lives to the next level, in college or on the work floor.

Grizzly Youth Academy is 1 of 2 National Guard Youth ChalleNGe programs in California, and across America, there are just over thirty of these programs. California puts a lot of effort into thwarting young adults’ progress in education, and quite a few students have come to a phase in life where if they don’t get their GED diplomas now, they may never get it.

Online GED and HiSET Testing

If you’re looking to secure your high school equivalency diploma in California, you can do so online as well today. It used to be that there was no option to take the GED or HiSET exam online. That simply was not offered. You needed to go to an official test center and take the tests in person.

Well, that has now changed as the GED and HiSET assessments became available in proctored online formats as well. Read more here: online HiSET testing option, and for the GED exam, the online proctored GED exam.
