The HiSET® exam is offered on paper and computer, whereas the GED® exam is fully computer-based. The HiSET and GED assessments offer adults who quit high school without a diploma the chance to earn an equivalent degree.
Both exams measure knowledge at a level that compares to that of graduating high school seniors.
The GED exam has four subtests covering the subjects of
- Language
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
These sub-exams are independent modules that may be written separately and in any order.
