GED® testing takes place at a comparable level to what graduating high school students must know.

The GED exam contains four independent subtests in these subject fields:

• English Language Literacy
• Mathematics
• Social Studies
• Science

Scottsdale Education Center (SEC) has a GED preparation program that is developed to teach students the basic competencies required to successfully take the GED (General Educational Development) exam. Via this program, applicants will attain the much-needed confidence and education to take the exam reassured.

The school is committed to supporting you to get a better job or go on with your academic education by acquiring your Arizona high school equivalency diploma. SEC’s GED program focuses on the GED exam’s content and also on general testing strategies that will make it easier for you to pass the computerized GED exam.

Students must first come to an assessment session to determine their level of education and skills, so gaps in their knowledge can be addressed. Scottsdale Education Center’s GED program is well-structured and helps candidates in their current problematic areas. The school’s instructors are trained to teach in an easy-to-understand and effective way.

Goodwill of Central Arizona was set up in 1947, and it is one of the more than 160 Goodwill organizations in North America and other
countries worldwide. Goodwill of Central Arizona includes Yuma, Maricopa, Gila, La Paz, Gila, and parts of Pinal and Yavapai Counties.

The organization is one of the largest and oldest non-profit agencies in Arizona, and it is controlled and governed by a Board of Directors who are all volunteers. It is Goodwill’s commitment to “Put People to Work,” and the agency accomplishes its commitment via education, job training, and other career services for individuals with various disabilities.

Goodwill operates the programs from 20 locations in central Arizona and has almost 50 retail stores in the area. Goodwill is accepting community donations of household goods, furniture, clothing, and so on, and the central Arizona agency alone has over one million donors every year.

More than 90 percent of Goodwill’s revenue from the stores is funneled back into the local communities to help Arizonans get work and/or get further educated. Goodwill is a self-sufficient agency that raises practically all of its own funding.

Introduction of the Online GED Exam

Taking the four GED subtests online is now also possible in an online format. In the past, students were required to appear at an official Arizona GED test center in person if they wished to earn their Arizona GED diplomas.
