GED Online Test-Taking Option
Until recently, there was no option to take the four GED modules via the Internet. To earn your Maryland GED diploma, you were required to come personally to an official Maryland GED testing facility.
But recently, that has changed with the arrival of a new online GED testing option. You must have a good Internet connection, and an online proctor oversees your test-taking activities and checks if you do it all in accordance with the rules. Visit this page, ‘The Online GED Test Introduced,’ to learn more.
Maryland GED Practice TestYour Future
The four GED subtests are in Social Studies (70 minutes), Science (90 minutes), Mathematical Reasoning (115 minutes), and Reasoning through Language Arts (150 minutes). The passing score for each subject test is 145. You can sit for the entire GED battery (four modules) if you wish for $45 or take one module at a time for $11.25 each.
This rate applies, however, only to first-time GED testers. All others pay the regular price of $36 per module, or $144 for the full GED battery.
The GED exam is a computer-based test, and the GED diploma is recognized across North America and accepted by practically all colleges, employers, and military services. The GED diploma is equivalent to a Maryland high school diploma.
The GED consists of four subtests that measure academic skills and knowledge that are commonly learned during four years of high school.
Maryland GED Price
The Maryland GED test costs $144 for the full exam or $36 per module. For first-timer testers, however, Maryland subsidizes the test. For these testers, the modules cost $14.25 each ($57 for the full exam). Maryland does NOT subsidize retests. You can take (and pay for) the four subtests one at a time.
So Maryland subsidizes $21.75 per module for first-time GED testers, and this applies to both online and on-site testing. The voucher code is valid only for the first attempt of each GED subtest. To benefit from this discount offer, you should apply the code MDGED2175 upon checkout when paying for your first attempt. To register for and schedule your tests, you must set up an account on the GED.com website.
