Listed here are all GED and HiSET prep site locations and testing centers in the Springfield, Missouri region. Missouri is using both the HiSET and the GED exams for high school equivalency (HSE) testing purposes.

The GED® and HiSET® exams can be taken online and at state-approved test centers.

In the past, online HiSET or GED testing was not possible. Testing needed to be done at one of Missouri’s state-designated testing sites.

Recently, however, we saw the launch of online testing options for both the GED and HiSET exams. Read more below.

The HiSET and GED tests give adults who did not graduate high school the chance to earn an equivalent degree.

There are four individual GED sub-exams that address these academic fields:

• Reasoning through Language Arts
• Mathematical Reasoning
• Social Studies
• Science

The HiSET exam contains five testing sections: Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

HiSET testing can be done both on paper and on a computer, whereas GED testing must be done on a computer.

Launching Online GED and HiSET Testing

In the past, it was not possible to take the GED or HiSET exam over the Internet. Recently, though, there have been some interesting developments with the launch of the ‘HiSET-Exam-At-Home’ and the ‘Online Proctored GED Test’ online testing options.
