Here we list all GED prep classes and test sites in the Syracuse area. New York uses the GED (General Education Development) exam for its high school equivalency testing program.

The GED assessment offers individuals who never finished high school an extra chance to acquire an equivalent diploma.

The GED® exam measures basic knowledge at a level comparable to that of graduating HS students.

Over the period 2014 through 2021, New York was offering the TASC exam for the purpose of high school equivalency (HSE) testing, but this was discontinued at the end of 2021. You can transfer TASC scores to the GED test!

The GED exam is fully computer-formatted and has four independent sub-exams that cover

• English Language Literacy (Writing and Reading in one sub-exam)
• Math
• Science
• Social Studies
