Posted here are all GED prep classes and test centers in the Tallahassee area. Florida uses the computer-formatted GED exam for the state’s equivalency testing program.

The GED exam is offered at state-approved test centers and in an online version. Florida suspended the online GED test on 1-10-24. Check below to learn more about taking the GED test online.

The assessment gives adults who didn’t have the chance to finish high school another option to get hold of an equivalent degree.

Across the nation, the GED® credential is recognized and accepted just like a regular High School Diploma.

There are four independent GED subtests assessing a GED student’s knowledge in the academic subject fields of

• Reasoning through Language Arts
• Social Studies, including History, Government, Geography
• Mathematical Reasoning
• Science, including Chemistry, Scientific Method, Physics

The four separate GED subtests may be completed one at a time and in any order.

The Online Proctored GED Test

Until recently, taking the GED exam over the Internet was never possible. If you wanted to secure your Florida GED diploma, you had to show up personally at a state-approved GED testing center in person and pass four GED subtests.

Well, with the arrival of a new online proctored GED testing option, that has changed. However, on Jan. 10, 2024, Florida suspended the online version of the GED exam. For more detailed information, go to this post: ‘The online proctored GED test.’
