These free TASC™ Social Studies practice tests will help you get optimally prepared for the Social Studies test in a relatively short period of time. The TASC exam was discontinued, but you may very well use these tests to get all set for the GED and HiSET exams.

The contents of the former TASC exam and the GED® test are similar, so using these free sample questions for the GED Science subtest was also great for the TASC Science test.

TASC testing included taking 5 individual subtests (modules) that cover Social Studies, Language Writing, Language Reading, Science, and Mathematics.

The five TASC tests measured knowledge at a level comparable to the knowledge level of students after four years of education in high school.

The TASC exam was for individuals who never completed their high school curriculum, like the GED.

TASC scores now also count for your HiSET or GED scores!

The five TASC modules didn’t have to be taken in one session. You could take them one subtest at a time.

The tests were offered in English and Spanish, though not at all test centers.

The TASC subtests were available in both computer-based and paper-and-pencil formats (except in New Jersey and West Virginia, where only computer-based testing was and is available).

TASC Social Studies Part 2

Taking multiple practice tests will help you identify your weak and strong knowledge fields so you can dedicate your time to studying for those areas that you need to focus on the most.

All five TASC modules were scored on a 300 – 800 scale, and the minimally required score on each module was 500. Averaging across subject tests was not possible.

So your total score could not be under 2500, and you also had to produce a TASC essay that had to result in at least a score of 2.

What Was On The TASC Social Studies Test?

On the TASC Social Studies part, the following topics were addressed: U.S. History, World History, Civics & Government, Geography, and Economics.

The TASC Social Studies module included 47 questions that needed to be completed in 75 minutes. Most questions were multiple-choice, but there also were draggable, multiple-answer, and some constructed-response questions.

All five TASC subtests were pretty challenging and if you wanted to earn your high school equivalency (HSE) diploma, just really had to get properly prepared.

The main content fields of the TAS Social Studies module were:

U.S. History (25%) – This section covered topics such as the American Revolution, the Civil War, Reconstruction, industrialization, immigration, World Wars I and II, the Great Depression, New Deal, the Cold War, equal rights movements, and Modern History.

World History (15%) – This section addressed, among other topics, early human society developments, political & economic revolutions, and causes & consequences of wars throughout the modern era.

Geography (15%) – This section covered topics about the relationship between societies and resources, and the environment.

Civics and Government (25%) – this section assessed your knowledge of how the U.S. system of Civics & Government functions. Also addressed were historic and modern governments, the electoral system, and the role of citizens.

Economics (20%) – This section addressed the systems and concepts of economics, government and economy, and consumer and labor issues in relation to the economy.
