GED Classes Toledo, Ohio

Last Updated on April 10, 2024.

This page informs you about all GED prep sites and testing centers in the Toledo area. Ohio is using two options for HSE (high school equivalency) testing: the GED and HiSET.

The HiSET® and GED® tests are available both online and at certified test centers.

The exams give people who couldn’t complete high school another chance to earn an equivalent degree.

All options measure knowledge at a level comparable to what students must command after four years in high school.

The GED is fully computerized and includes four subtests in

  • Math
  • Science
  • English Language Literacy
  • Social Studies

You can prepare for, pay for, and take each of the four GED subtests (modules) at a time.

The HiSET has individual reading and writing tests, so five overall, that can be taken separately as well. These options are offered both on a computer and on paper.

In earlier days, taking one of the exams via the Internet was never possible. But recently, we’ve seen the introduction of online testing options, both for the GED and the HiSET. More information is at the bottom of this post.

Launching Online GED and HiSET Test-Taking Options

Students who wanted to earn their HSE (high school equivalency) credentials always had to show up in person at an official testing site. There was never an option to sit for the exams over the Internet. Recently, however, that changed with the arrival of both a GED and a HiSET online test-taking option.

To get informed about the recently launched online HiSET exam, check out this page: ‘The online HiSET test,’ and if you want to learn more about the online proctored GED test-taking option, visit ‘The online GED test.
