GED Classes Traverse City, Michigan

This article lists all GED prep facilities and testing centers in the Traverse City area. Michigan uses two options for high school equivalency testing: the GED and HiSET.

Both options are offered online and at state-approved Michigan test centers. To learn more about the online HiSET® and GED® tests, check below.

The assessments are for persons who did not finish high school and give them another opportunity to earn an equivalent degree.

Testing is done at a level comparable to that of graduating high school seniors.

The GED is entirely computer-based, while the HiSET is offered both on paper and on a computer.

The four GED tests are assessing a student’s skills and knowledge of these subjects:

• Mathematical Reasoning
• Reasoning through Language Arts
• Social Studies
• Science

You can take one of the four GED subtests at a time. You don’t need to take the entire GED battery in one session.

The HiSET exam comes with five subtests, as the section Literacy contains separate writing and reading tests. The HiSET modules may also be written separately.

Until quite recently, taking the HiSET or GED exam via the Internet had never been possible. That, however, changed as online proctored versions of the GED and HiSET became available.
