The “All-in-One” GED Prep

Get Your Diploma in 2 Months.
It doesn’t matter when you left school.

The assessments offer adults without a high school diploma the opportunity to earn an equivalent degree.

The GED® test is fully computer-based and has four separate subtests, or modules, in Science, Math, Language Arts, and Social Studies.

The HiSET® exam is offered both on-paper and on-computer and includes five tests (Literacy has separate reading and writing tests).

The four GED modules may be taken separately and that counts for the HiSET subtests as well.

We recommend the Online GED Classes from Onsego.  Simple, Fast & Easy. Onsego Provides Everything You Need to Pass Your GED.

Both tests assess knowledge at a level similar to what HS seniors are expected to master upon graduation.

Online GED and HiSET exams

Both the GED and HiSET can now be taken in an online format as well. Until recently, if you wanted to earn a high school equivalency diploma, you had to come to an official test center and sit for the exam in person.

Now, that’s all changed! Both options are now offered online as well with the use of an online proctor. To read more, check out GED online proctored testing and for the HiSET: HiSET online proctored testing.

Passing scores

To pass the GED exam, you need a minimum score of 145 on each one of the four tests. So your overall score needs to be at least 580. You can take the four modules (independent subtests) one at a time, and averaging is not possible.

The four modules cover the academic subject areas of Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Mathematics. There are three GED passing score ranges. 145-164 is the high school equivalency range; 165-174 is the college-ready range; 175-200 is the college-ready plus up to 10 college credits range.

The HiSET exam contains five modules, and on each module, a minimum score of 8 (out of 20) is required The five modules cover Language Writing, Language Reading, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. On the HiSET essay, a minimum score of 2 points out of 6 is needed, and the overall score must be at least 45.

The HiSET exam has separate reading and writing modules. The HiSET sub-exams can also be taken separately, and if you wish, one at a time.

Over the years, more than 20 million adults have passed the GED exam or one of the alternatives, and the GED diploma is accepted by nearly all US colleges, universities, and employers. Recent studies show that people with a GED Diploma will make 43 percent more income than those without.

Every year, more than half a million adults earn their GED diplomas, and famous GED graduates include Dave Thomas (founder of Wendy’s), Peter Jennings, and Michael J. Fox.
